Gastronomy is a relation between culture and the meal,the reflection of identitiy, originality and the process till ready to eat.Gastronomy center is a place that provides only “edutainment” and gains pleasure to everyone in there.The idea of the project is ”mounting a heart to a dead body”. In this Bedesten project,the main goal is make Bedesten alive and to makeit valuable for Tire again.Insertion is choosen in this project as a design strategy to make building alive without touching and harming.
Floating floor and lighting elements are designed without touching the original building .The original building and the additional elementswere seperated from each others to legibility of the designapproach.To give prominence and to make visible the original building,concrete,glass,steel,wood and corten was used as materials.
The Bedesten as a gastronomy center divided in three parts according to types of the meals, drinkings and the ambiance they need. Cold tasting area(1) contains traditional herbs of Tire and fruit juices.Wine tasting area(2) contains diffrent types of wines of Tire and a wine shopping area that customers can select their wine from cellars.Open kitchen was designed in hot food preparing area(3) according to idea that customers can see the process of meals. The only concept of project is to give a value that Bedesten deserved.
